The Apprentice's Den

(since i have earth, i rise up some rocks and form a bridge across the lake.) i step onto it. "Ha! come on, we'll be the first to cross the bloody thing!"

"Or i could just fly! We both can!" She began flying above her friend as they crossed the huge red lake.

"Oh. yeah." takes a running start and springs into the the air as we glid over the unlively lake. a harsh wind suddenly blows and a tornado charges towards the two helpless warriors as they fly.

Brooksong veered higher into the air, watching their surrondings. The tornado swirved and was in right in front of them. Brooksong grabbed Russtefur's scruff and yanked her into the air. The cold leaf-bare wind tugged and their ratted fur. But Brooksong kept on. She swirved through the tornado, matching it for speed. She flew highed until the tornado was far far behind them. She flew down to the rock and landed on the ground, her feet hitting the ground harshly. She dropped her friend limply, before collapsing.

As RussetFur struggled to her feet, she noticed her friend was in pain. She looked around at the once beautiful forest that was now at ruins of fallin trees. She knelt to her friend and pulled her the a spot in the fallen trees where they could be sheltered, warm, and safe.

"Did we make it?" Mewed Brooksong, her tired wings aching. "You know you're heavier than you look." She mewed laughingly. She got up and shook the dust from her fur. She kept licking her pelt until it gleamed. She looked up and realized the large, destroyed forest around them.

"This is what that tornado did to the forest!" mewed Russetfur. "I know it seems bad, but, we just lost our dens. The forest collasped and destroyed everything! For now, we're stuck here. Well, it's a good thing OUR dens didn't get destroyed. They're just buried."

"Okay." She began pawing at the dirt, her paw pads bleeding. "I give up." She flew up, looking across the lake. "I...I see land!" She mewed, swooping down to Russetfur. "We don't need to find our dens......Let's go explore!!"

"Are you saying that we found a new land? Well, what are we waiting for? LET'S GOOO!" She jumps and flys while keeping a close eye on her injured friend.

She flew with her friend, but saw Russetfur staring at her. "Oh stop eyeing me like i've got greencough!" She laughed, nudging her friend.

"What? I'm just being a good friend and making sure you don't fall!!"

"Oh puh-leeze. Like i would fall." As she spoke, she saw monsters roaring under them. "Twolegs. And a bridge." She whispered. She swooped down and laid a paw on the thunderpath, another monster roared by. "My paw!" She squealed.

"Oh pa-leeze. I know that joke. you're faking that your got ran over! I'm not falling for it!"

Brooksong pulled her paw out and Russetfur saw the paw, it was crushed in some places and matted with blood. "Do you believe me now?" She spat, trying to lick the blood away from it. She flew on, ignoring the irritating pain her paw was causing her.

"Sorry! But, you've pulled that joke before." She followed behind her as they reached the small island.

"I know," she purred. As they approached the island, all the traces of leaf-bare were gone. "Anyone here?" she called out into the tropical island. "Hello?" Her ears pricked as a sudden noise came from the bushes. "Show yourself!" She hissed, flexing her muscles.

"What are you doing on my island?" A large, fire creature stepped into view. "This is Red lake Clan. Why are you here?" He sat down, smiling at the two beautiful females.

"Well we crossed Red Lake, as you called it." His smile tingled her spine, but sent a prickle of uncertainty run through her. What if he hurts us? She thought bitterly. "We are of no harm. I am Brooksong." she bowed at the muscular male.

"I wouldn't think of hurting you guys." He purred, his smile more welcoming. "I was wondering, do you guys wanna go for a swim?"

"ShadowClaw!!" RussetFur jumps and tackles the cat in a playful way. "I missed you sir!!!"

"Maybe." She looked wearily at the male. "Where is it?"

"Hey Russetfur!" He gave the female a quick, friendly lick. "It's over here." He flicked his tail and a beautiful waterfall loomed overhead.
